Our Story
Art With a Slightly Wicked Wink
ButterScotch was born the day I realized Iād memorized more ibrand and generic drug names and costs than actual colors. After one too many fluorescent-lit shifts in pharmacy land, I decided to swap pill bottles for paint splatters and start something a lot more funāand a little bit unhinged.
Iāve always been lowākey obsessed with my sisterās paintings, so this shop began as a totally unbiased mission to prove sheās a genius. Then my artist friends showed up (as they do), and suddenly I was running a tiny rebellion against boring walls everywhere, marketing the weird and wonderful things they make.
The name? A tribute to my cats, Butters and Scotchāprofessional chaos gremlins and unofficial creative directors. If the shop feels a bit mischievous, blame them.
Every piece is chosen for its character: a glaze that catches the light like a secret, a frame that feels like itās seen a few lifetimes, a color story that leans just left of ordinary. ButterScotch is for people who want their art to raise an eyebrow, start a story, and linger long after the guests go home.
Whispers of the Curated
"Jessica created such a beautiful, heartfelt portrait for us. The likeness is incredible, but what really stands out is how she captured the kidsā personalities so naturallyātheir expressions feel genuine and full of life. The soft lighting and warmth in the piece give it a timeless, almost nostalgic feel that we absolutely love. You can tell she puts a lot of care and attention into her work, and it truly shows. We couldnāt be happier with how it turned out."
Jeremy and Holly Barela
"Jessica is professional, talented, communicative, and a joy to work with. But more importantly she takes the time to get to know the people she is working with and the people she is painting. This is clearly reflected in her completed works of art. Additionally, the finished paintings were shipped to us securely and ahead of schedule. We highly recommend Jessica for any custom work."
Matt and Leah DeTommaso
"Finally, an art store that understands that 'aesthetic' doesn't mean 'boring'. ButterScotch is the vibe Iāve been hunting for years."
